I've liked this guy for ages and he knows it but he was in a relationship with someone else. The last couple of times I have seen him he has not been with his girlfriend (I think they may have split but am not sure) and has come up to me and kissed me on the lips when he said hello.

I saw him at a gathering the other night and again he came up said hi and gave me a kiss and then we didn't speak until he was going and again he kissed me and I let it linger a few seconds longer than you would and hugged him too which he responded to.

I know this sounds naive but does this mean he likes me?

You say he knows you fancy him.  If he does then kissing and hugging you is NOT complete proof that he fancies you.  There are several possibilities.  He knows you fancy him and is taking advantage of it.  The more he kisses and hugs you the more he begins to like you in that way.  Or he's building you up towards having a sexual encounter.  Or he is holding himself back from having a relationship with you until he's completely over his last relationship.  It could be any of those options and you need more information before deciding which one it is.

Just a follow on from my last last email. i have now found out that he is still seeing his girlfriend. I think he is playing games with my head this guy!

No so much playing with your head, more that he may fancy you, but has other better options at the moment.
