He will look away if he says anything nice about me, why won't he just ask me out PDF Print
Written by Holly

I met a man 6 months ago and I don't know if he is extremely shy or not. He is early thirties and he said he has a girlfriend whom he lives with.

Well I get the feeling he is hitting on me but is extremely shy about it. He will squirm around alot and look away if he says anything nice to me.

That's a prime example of a guy that worships a woman, he feels as though you might reject him, so he looks away as he's saying it in case you look at him like he's a fool.

He teases me quite a bit and makes fun of me but all in a good way. I joked that I was going to turn up at his house once with my suitcases because his place sounded much more fun than mine!

Good, that's an excellent bit of flirting.  It sounds like he feels that you are far too good for him though.

He looked down and said his house was messy. He looked a bit uncomfortable. Did I go too far saying this, although it was obvious I was joking.

I doubt it, it would be more a case of "oh no, I can't get her to come round yet, there's my current girlfriend, that could turn nasty".   But probably his most apt thought would be that this comment took him by surprise and he didn't know what to say.  If you went too far with this you'll notice that over the next few weeks he'll try and avoid you.

He said he needed to decorate his home and said I could go and do it.

So there, you didn't go too far earlier, he was just a bit defensive because of the way his home looks and probably because his girlfriend lives there with him.

He tells me about concerts he has been too (he says we so I presume he meant his girlfriend!) because he knows I like the same type of bands.

I catch him staring and all the other stuff but it;s mainly the squirming and acting unconfortable type of behaviour that I find odd really. Why can't he just come out and say he likes me or whatever it is he wants to say?

Because he has a girlfriend, because he is shy and because he feels you are far more superior to him and he stands little chance with you and because he doesn't know you enough yet!  And why can't you?  And don't say it's because that's a man's job, because that's just an excuse by women because they don't have the guys to ask themselves.  If you figure out why you won't ask him out, most of those reasons will apply to him too.

Why do men talk in riddles and not be clearer what they mean?

We say exactly the same about women.  It's just that both sexes do and say things in a different way and neither end up understanding each other.

So is he very shy or what!

He is shy, but also he has a girlfriend and it takes a lot to get a guy to finish his girlfriend, even if she is right bitch.
