I doubt that's the reason.  There will be something more than that, that will be part of it but not the deciding factor.  Guys like their freedom to be able to go out with their friends but if they like their women enough, most of the time if their women says he can't he will just reduce down how much he sees them.  It's more likely to be a clash of personalities and he feels as though he doesn't gel with you too much.  You both have different interests because of the age difference and he can't cope with that anymore. 

but lies to me as he thinks i wont let him see them.

He's bound to lie, if he wants to see his mates, he's going to see them however he thinks possible.  As much as he might like a woman, he also needs some freedom to enjoy things outside your relationship.  He would go absolutely crazy, if he got locked in a house or in a relationship where he had to be with that person constantly and wasn't allowed to do certain things.  As he is younger, he will be more immature and won't realise that he can't say to you, I'm going out to see my friends, if you don't like that idea, then tough.

Now he doesnt really speak much to me even though i thought he loved me because he used to tell me all the time.

Well if a guy is getting something out of the relationship, like sex, he will tell you what you want to hear, to reassure you that the relationship is ok, and it's ok to keep giving him sex.  That's because he's winding down the relationship slowly and he wants you to become bored of him and finish the relationship, so he doesn't have to.

Now he seems completely different like he doesnt care and he is meeting other girls.

That's because he doesn't really care anymore, he's slowly progressing towards leaving you and moving onto another girl, he's just waiting for you to ditch him.  If you don't ditch him, he will continue to have sex with you but will continue to be remote and cold. 

Why is it that they can forget about the one person they say they love so quickly and move on so quickly???

A guy has to be ruthless, a guy has to put up with lots of women rejecting him because he's usually the one that is made to ask a woman out, because that's a guys job.  To be that ruthless, he's got to keep on pretending to himself that he doesn't care about a woman, until he actually meets the right one.  He can't dwell on the fact that one woman has rejected him or that one woman isn't right for him, because there are plenty more out their he can try.  When guys are young, he's not really interested in long term relationship or committment, he just wants to have some fun, get some sexual experience and get some relationship experience before he meets the one that will truly be his long term relationship.  Hopefully he's learnt a lot from the past relationships and learns not to make those mistakes again, with his long term relationship woman.  If a guy were to dwell on women that rejected him, dumped him or bitches that give him a bad time or deplete his self confidence, then he would end up in a deep depression and would probably kill himself.  So men learn to be cold and assertive and move on.  He prefers the woman to ditch him though, because then she won't hassle him too much once the relationship is over, because she made the decision that she didn't fancy him, rather than the other way round.  It's only when he's in a relationship with the one he really does love that he finds it difficult to move on, then he will find it difficult to leave her.

A man uses several techniques to wipe a woman out of his mind or stop himself from missing her.  Generally he'll bring into his mind all the negative things about her, he will think I'm not right for her, she is not right for me, can I imagine living with her for the rest of my life, she makes me unhappy, she restricts me, she is just a friend, there are all sorts of ways that a guy will wipe a woman out of his head.  Otherwise he will spend the rest of his life dwelling on all the woman he's been with and not being able to find another woman as a result, some guys are better at it than others.  But what you'll find as a woman is you sometimes benefit from this method, like if he decided you are the one, it's most likely because he's wiped the other women out of his head.  Then mostly it works against women, because it means men can quickly get over a woman that he hasn't really fallen for yet (despite the fact he might have reassured you, he had fallen for you). 

So the reason he could get over someone he loved so quickly, is because he didn't really love you.  He told you that because that's what you wanted to hear.  If he'd told you the truth, that it was too early to say that yet, you would have took a strop on him and dumped him for saying that at a time when he did like you and thought things might progress.
