Fit 'N' Frustrated on
19/09/2005
I have been dating my boyfriend for 4 years, although recently we
have been going through a rough patch (i.e. no sex!)
Over the past 2 months I have become crazily attracted to this
guy who works at my gym. The first time I met him we were chatting and he
made a reference to his girlfriend. I am assuming they are still
together, but I don't know what their situation is. I have never
mentioned to him that I have a boyfriend.
I am crazy about him. I think he is interested in me too, but I
am really crap at reading the signs! I always think people are just being
really friendly (I myself often get accused of flirting with people when
I am just being friendly); how can I tell the difference? And how can I
let him know that I am very interested in him without embarrassing
myself? I feel I have been out of the dating game for so long I have
become a bit clueless. We did go for a coffee after our last workout and
he kissed me goodbye on the cheek, but couldn't that just be him being
friendly??

Men often tell women they have got a girlfriend, because women seem to
find men more attractive if they already have a girlfriend (women may
deny that fact but it is true, believe me).
You say: "I always think people are just being really friendly (I
myself often get accused of flirting with people when I am just being
friendly); how can I tell the difference?"
Men very rarely flirt very well with women they don't fancy. And if men
are not interested at all in a woman, they generally won't make any
effort to speak or flirt with them.
"We did go for a coffee after our last workout and he kissed me
goodbye on the cheek, but couldn't that just be him being friendly?"
Do men go out and have coffee with any woman they set their eyes on? Do
men kiss any minging woman on the cheek? I
don't think so, if he kissed you on the cheek, he is either gay or he
finds you attractive.
So next time you see him, after the workout, ask him if he wants to go
for another coffee.
