i like this lad alot & we've got
history from when we were younger, i like him alot again now but im not
sure if hes interested. he talks to me but were good mates so he does
that anyway, but sometimes i see him taking quick glances at me and he
comes an sits next to me when he can and talks to me. he always smiles at
me when he sees me aswel, but hes after other girls so i dont think he
does like me.

Quick glances, goes out of his way to
talk to you, always smiles. If it was just one of those things in
isolation, that would not be conclusive, but all of them together, I
would say there is good chance he fancies you.
Just because he is after other girls
doesn't mean he isn't after you. He might fancy them in addition to
you, or he might be using them to make you jealous or he may just be a
proper flirty guy.
You should always be cautious with
popular guys, because they are much more likely to be unfaithful.
After all, he can afford to use you for sex because he will have plenty
of other women waiting in the sidelines. You have to give him the
benefit of the doubt in the initial stages, but make him wait for sex,
because then you can tell whether he is a sex maniac or someone who wants
a relationship as well as sex.
